Over 300 Photographers from all over the world submitted their entries to the contest among which about 50 photographers entries were accepted and entered into the contest. The first phase of the contest – to determine the top 5 contestants consisted of a popularity contest on the @volomagazine Instagram account. Pictures were put up regularly and provided the limelight on VOLOMagazine’s 300K+ Instagram following.
The photography contest which launched on the 23rd of July, 2016 closed for entries on the 15th of August 2016 to allow ample time for all submissions to collect Instagram votes to get into the top 5. Each accepted photographer had the option to submit upto 5 images, the best of which would then be posted for contest voting by the VOLO Magazine social media team.
